The night started with the inventory drift, because every other problem hid behind it: the storefront was selling from a count the warehouse stopped believing two weeks ago. Once the two agreed, the failed checkouts dropped on their own — most of them were people buying a size that did not exist.

The second half was cleanup that had waited months. The printer bug was one line. The customer merge was 2,140 pairs and a script that ran for 40 minutes. Nothing here is clever; it is the list finally getting done in one sitting.
