Notes

The old pipeline had eleven handoffs because five tools each owned a piece and none of them talked directly. An order went cart → storefront → spreadsheet → inventory app → email → warehouse printer. Basecamp holds the order from payment to carrier; the storefront and the carrier are the only outside parties left.

The one manual touch that survives is fraud review, on purpose. A person looks at anything scoring over 70 and decides in under a minute. Everything else a machine does better.
